The Board approved the minutes from the August 9, 2007 school board meeting as presented.
The Board held a public hearing to receive questions and comments regarding the proposed 2008 budgets as advertised. No one addressed the Board about the proposed budgets.
Superintendent Ned Speicher reported on the school corporation auction to be held on September 22, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School.
Mr. Speicher reported on the first teacher inservice day to be held on September 28, 2007 at Frankton Elementary School.
Lapel Elementary School remediation teacher Linda Steele presented a demonstration of the Cornerstone software that is being used in preparation for ISTEP and GQE testing.
Mr. Speicher reported on the financial status of the school corporation as of August 31, 2007.
Mr. Speicher reported on the opening of school enrollment.
The Board approved a job description and policy for an auditorium director for the new auditorium at Lapel High School.

The Board approved for Lapel Elementary School and Lapel Middle School to pay for supplies, scantron forms, and equipment from the extra-curricular fund titled "General Fund" during the 2007-08 school year.

The Board approved Public Law 191-2006 (HEA 1006) stating that Frankton-Lapel Community Schools shall strive to increase the percentage for the student instructional expenditures categories as compared to the other expenditure categories as described in IC 21-10-3-4 for the next fiscal year by identifying efficiencies in all expenditure categories. These include, but are not limited to the following:
Technology
Maintenance
Secretarial
Administration
Transportation
The Board approved the revised joint services agreement with the special services cooperative.
The Board approved to pay the first 2007-08 payment for our special education program placements outside of the school corporation.
The Board approved the following cash tuition rates for 2007-08:
High School $200.00
Jr. High $ 50.00
Elementary $140.00
Kindergarten $ 70.00
The Board approved the September construction invoices.
The Board approved the claim documents as submitted.
