Lapel High School senior Drew Stecher led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Board approved the minutes from the September 13, 2012 school board meeting as presented.
The Board approved the 2013 budgets and plans as follows: General Fund Budget, Debt Service Budget, Retirement/Severance Bond Debt Service Budget, Capital Projects Plan & Budget, Transportation Operating Budget, and Transportation Bus Replacement Plan & Budget.
Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the official ADM count taken on Friday, September 14, 2012.
Mr. Fields reported on the parent-teacher conferences to be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 and Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 3:00-6:30 p.m., with the students being released 45 minutes early on those days.
Mr. Fields reported on a joint convocation for FLCS middle school and high school students at Lapel High School on October 18, 2012.
The Board approved the following cash tuition requests:

The Board approved an out-of-state field trip request for the Lapel High School band & color guard to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah, Georgia on March 12-17, 2013.
The Board approved a new high deductible health insurance plan and salary structure. The plan calls for a $4,000 deductible for an individual and $8,000 deductible for a family and a 3% raise for employees eligible for health insurance coverage.
The Board approved for the school corporation to enter into contract with the Activate Health Clinic.
The Board approved a request by the Madison Park Church of God to rent Frankton-Lapel buses for the State Youth Convention.

The Board approved the claim documents as submitted.
Parents Jennifer Stern and Kelly Hollingsworth, both from Lapel, spoke to the Board concerning bullying problems at Lapel Elementary School.
