History Club (HS)

Advisor: Kevin Cline

The Frankton chapter of the National History Club is organized around the goal of "taking our love of history outside the classroom walls."  The club is largely run by a small group of student leaders, the History Club Captains, who are elected by the club membership, and work to plan and implement all club activities.  The club's goal is to strive for one activity per month, and the club works to plan a variety of activities, including speakers, community service, local history, and field trips.  The high school club is open to all students in grade 9-12 with only a small yearly due.  The club is affiliated with the National History Club, and has been named a national chapter of the year three times!

The History Club also sponsors the History Student of the Year award (given to a senior), and the Frankton chapter of the National History Honors Society.
To be considered for membership, students must meet a set of requirements, including gpa, active membership in the Club, and must have taken at least one semester of an AP or Dual Credit course offered within the department in good standing. Inductions take place in the Spring.
